promote cycling by offering custom tours

Perfect Start

We spent our first morning in Austin with Deaton who gave us the perfect start for our three-day city visit. We spent the next two days visiting the sites, neighborhoods, restaurants and clubs that Deaton pointed out to us during her three-hour bike tour. She set us up with quality rental bikes and we especially enjoyed the customized extras including a homemade granola bar and an ice cold washcloth to conclude our tour.

Definitely Worth It!

My husband and I had such a great time biking through the beautiful trails and neighborhoods that Austin has to offer. Coming from a non-biking city, we were a bit nervous biking through the streets with the regular car traffic, but after the first hour with Catherine, we felt at ease. We even kept the bikes after the tour and did some exploring on our own. Catherine was very friendly and took some awesome pictures of us. Deaton was so accommodating and friendly. She thought of everything you would need for a great bike tour. We’ve been to Austin several times before but you don’t get this kind of experience unless you’re personally biking through the city. Love Austin and loved this tour!

Above and Beyond the Call of Duty

We did a small company retreat and reached out to Texas Bike Tours for one of our excursions. We are in the hospitality business so it takes a lot to impress this group, but Deaton went above and beyond the call of duty!!! She put together a perfect, customizable tour for our group of 8. First off, ahead of time we chatted several times to get the perfect route together. Many times when you do a bike excursion in destinations, their bikes are crappy and someone either has a flat or a chain break or their brakes don’t work. Not here! Texas Bike Tours asked for all of our heights in advance and had the perfect, most updated bikes to ride for our adventure.  Not only is Deaton just down right adorable, but she loves Austin and exudes a wonderful spirit about the history of her home town. We stopped along the way and little shady spots to hear the history and then she treated us with a homemade granola bar perfectly packaged with her logo. A great impression! We stopped and took pictures of all of the landmarks along the way and at the end of the tour were handed the most lovely rosemary scented cold washcloths to round out a perfect experience. As we are in the business, we know it’s all about the details and Deaton and her company hit this tour out of the park in our minds!

We highly recommend Deaton and her crew to make your bike excursion in Austin the very best. Thank you for being such a rock star girl!!!

Highest recommendations for the best bike tour in Austin!

Yesterday was my 3rd time to use Texas Bike Tours, so I don’t even need to say how much I love it  Whenever I have guests this will be on ‘must do’ list. Deaton is amazing, and I always have feeling that her priority is not to earn money but to have happy clients. She always have prepared snacks, wet towels, sunscreen lotion, water etc. I moved to Austin less than 2 years ago and on these tours there is always something new to see and learn. Yesterday tour was with my 6 years old nephew and he was fascinated! Will come back again for sure! Thank you Deaton! English is not my native language so I hope this review will be understandable. (Note: Ana is from Serbia.)

Personalized for our expectations! See more in less time – tour by bike!

We had a wonderful experience and got to see more of the “Real” Fredericksburg than any museum or other tour could offer. This was our third trip to the area and in our two hours with our guide Tasha we learned more about the area and its founding than we had in our two previous trips combined. In only two hours of easy bike riding, we saw more of the city than most residents.

The customization of our tour began long before we met Tasha. I texted back and forth with the owner about our fitness levels and interests. She found the perfect “pathfinder” for us as well as arranged to have us fitted for suitable bikes.  Josh at “Jack and Adams Bike Shop” was a little concerned about my husbands height, but they were able to fit him to a great street cruiser. Both of our bikes were high quality and quite comfortable. This made riding them effortless!

The streets of Fredericksburg are very well suited for bike tours. They are “wide enough to turn an ox cart.” This made touring the city while chatting easy and safe. This is not an “exercise program” so a reasonable amount of fitness is all that is required.

Everything needed for a perfect tour is provided. Granola bars made specifically with our food allergies in mind, high quality helmets, water bottles, and even cold rosemary wash clothes at the end of the ride are provided. All you need to bring is sunscreen, sunglasses, and proper shoes for riding.

Don’t miss this unique tour of a special town.

Custom family-friendly tour of Austin

Deaton planned the perfect route for our family with three young kids. She thoughtfully created a tour through some of the city based on our biking experience, needs, and interests. It was exactly what we needed! Everyone had a great time-especially the kids. She was so attentive to details throughout the tour, and surprised us with wonderful treats from beginning to end. I highly recommend Deaton and this tour company!!

Great Way to Discover Austin

As I organized my weekend in Austin at the very last minute, Deaton only had a little over 24 hours to put together my bike tour. She was extremely flexible and accomodating. The guide assigned to us, Victor, was phenomenal.

Mother’s Day Tour

My family took our first tour on Mother’s Day and it was without a doubt the best Mother’s Day present ever!!! Deaton created a tour that was prefect for our 9 and 11 year old children. She has great rapport with the children and went above and beyond to ensure that everyone was happy throughout the day.

Finding, Seeing & Knowing Fredericksburg

Casually cycle with TXBT crew on streets less traveled and be in the heart of Fredericksburg. In the 1840’s desperate German immigrants were “rescued” by Baron Otfried Han Freiherr von Meusebach and together began the city we see today. Travel where longhorns graze in a field in town, down historic streets where oxen pulled carts, hear the stories of the homes and tombstones…others may see the Hoffman Haus, you will know the Basse Haus is there. Bike hire service is also available. Let us customize this experience for you with a focus on history, art, food, or antiques for example. This can then be a three-hour tour for an additional $10 a person.

Great Tour of Austin

Simply put this was one of the best urban bike tours that we have ever taken. Deaton, arranged for a First Class experience. She rented us GREAT cross bikes from Lance Armstrong’s bike shop in Austin and she gave us a great historical narration of Austin over the course of our 4 hour ride. We would highly recommend Texas Bike Tours to anyone.

A wonderful way to explore Austin

Deaton planned an amazing and unique bike tour for me and my 3 college housemates to explore the artistic and unique side of Austin. This was only the second time my housemates and I have gotten together since we graduated from college in 1982. We were all meeting in Austin, and I wanted a way for us to have fun, see the city, and get exercise. The bike tour was the perfect way to do that. The highlights of our tour: the H. O. P. E. mural gallery, which I had never seen before, the Pfulger Bridge over Town Lake, Green Pastures for the peacocks, the Austin mural, South Congress area, an artists residence, then a stop at Barton Springs. Deaton knows the city, and shares interesting details during the stops. Deaton made sure we rented outstanding bikes, and then had us practice riding them before the tour to make sure the seat was adjusted properly. She provided water, helmets, a food treat, and sunscreen when we needed it. My friends enjoyed every minute of the bike experience. We had beautiful weather which made everything absolutely perfect. We did not do the meal option, although I hear it is wonderful, too!

Take your out of town guests on a bike tour with Texas Bike Tours!!
